Anthony H. Wilson was an iconic figure of modern day Manchester. His infamous Factory Records label singlehandedly established the north of England as the center of indie music in the mid 80s. A pioneer in his field, this vivacious character was always in the public eye.
Responsible for bringing together the likes of Joy Division, The Happy Mondays and New Order, the aftershock of these musical outfits still resonates throughout Manchester today.
Wilson died of cancer in 2007 at the age of 57. His coffin featured the last Factory catalogue number ever assigned – FAC 501. Even though the factory is now closed, we will donate £3.00 to Cancer Research UK for each tribute t-shirt sold. Buy our tee and celebrate the life of one of Manchester’s most influential entrepreneurs.
